Recently, I've been experimenting with Americana Triple Thick Gloss Glaze from DecoArt. I have used both the spray and the brush-on versions.
For this heart-shaped sign project, I decided to go with the brush-on glaze because I wanted to create an enamel-like finish. First, I covered a large wood heart (8" x 8") with vintage clipart, Paris Advertising Ephemera, from The Graphics Fairy. I distressed the heart with pigment ink.
I poured a layer of the brush-on glaze all over the heart shape. I found that it is tricky working with the glaze on larger pieces. The glaze that I had put on smaller hearts produced a smooth finish. The large heart has a mottled finish. But I think that it only adds to the overall distressed look that I was trying to achieve. The specks that you see on the ribbon are loose bits of silver glitter.
Only later did I realize that this is definitely a Cinnamon Pink kind of heart. I guess I really do like pink and brown.
I added this post to Brag Monday at The Graphics Fairy (#44).

This is a darling heart you made. I gotta love those GF images too-- very nice choice!

Hi...I have just purchased a Silhouette Cameo. Do you know how to incorporate your clip art into my program and how to make it? I am still trying to figure out how it works...Thanks!
