Cinnamon Pink Heart

Recently, I've been experimenting with Americana Triple Thick Gloss Glaze from DecoArt. I have used both the spray and the brush-on versions.

For this heart-shaped sign project, I decided to go with the brush-on glaze because I wanted to create an enamel-like finish. First, I covered a large wood heart (8" x 8") with vintage clipart, Paris Advertising Ephemera, from The Graphics Fairy. I distressed the heart with pigment ink.

I poured a layer of the brush-on glaze all over the heart shape. I found that it is tricky working with the glaze on larger pieces. The glaze that I had put on smaller hearts produced a smooth finish. The large heart has a mottled finish. But I think that it only adds to the overall distressed look that I was trying to achieve. The specks that you see on the ribbon are loose bits of silver glitter.

Only later did I realize that this is definitely a Cinnamon Pink kind of heart. I guess I really do like pink and brown.

Check Out this Treasury: Little Treasures

I love looking at Etsy Treasuries and finding such unique and beautiful products.

I just found out that I'm in a Madcap Team Treasury that was created by Marina. The name of it is Little Treasures.

Cinnamon Pink - Etsy Shop Name News

I have great news to share! The new name of my Etsy Shop is now Cinnamon Pink. As of October 18, Etsy allowed sellers to change their Shop name.

You may wonder why I used two different names, i.e., Cinnamon Pink as my blog name - and Koppel Studio as my Etsy Shop name.

Many years ago, I joined Etsy so that I could purchase all these unique and beautiful handmade items. I chose the user name Koppel Studio not realizing that it would become my Shop name if I ever decided to go into business with Etsy.

I always felt that my Cinnamon Pink blog name better represented my products - and me as a person. Koppel Studio sounded too formal to me. So what do you think about the name change?

Curating Online Mood Boards from Hello Craft

I've been absent from blogland for a few days because my sister, brother-in-law and nephew came down from Upstate New York to visit us. It was kind of a surprise visit. We all had a wonderful time together.

Now it's time to catch up with the online world. Via Hello Craft, I came across this informative article on Curating Online Mood Boards written by Claire Menegus. She references some interesting online Boards such as the well-known Pininterest.

Maybe you already know about this site but it's new to me. Here's a quote from their Information Page:

The site is very tempting. When I first explored the Top Etsy Sellers , I kept finding items that I wanted to purchase. You can also purchase Ad Space for your own shop. There are some great sellers to be found in the ads too.

Check Craftcount out but remember that I warned you of the temptations. Hmmm..... Now do you think that I really need those pink cultured pearls to add to my bead stash?

Via a mailing list, I heard about the enchanting work of Figurative Artist, Adele Sciortino.

Adele puts out a professional, quarterly newsletter offering in-depth information about costuming techniques, book reviews, product resources and bonus articles. If you're a mixed-media artist, you'll find invaluable advice that you can use in your own art work.

Announcing New Art at PFATT Marketplace

Since it is the tenth day of the month, there is new art on the PFATT Marketplace site. Here is a sneak peek of my new offerings. You can also find more details about my new art here.

I used a Blog Header (Vintage Newspaper with Bird) from The Graphics Fairy site to create this collage.

I'm thinking of making postcards from this mixed-media piece. I like the positive message that it conveys.  We all need to remind ourselves to SOAR! Let me know what you think about the postcards.

I love the look of vintage pink roses so I created this collage to add a shabby chic look to a room. The roses also came from The Graphics Fairy site.

I had a great time creating this little purple sheep. This little guy definitely marches to the beat of his own drum.

Good News! My laptop did not crash. It was just a little glitch. I am so thrilled.

My Laptop Crashed

Today is not a good day for me. My laptop crashed. I'm writing this post on DH's laptop.

Wish me luck on Monday when I take my laptop in for service. Hopefully, I haven't lost my files and documents.
