Via The 99 %, I came across an enlightening article entitled, What Happened to Downtime? (The Extinction of Deep Thinking & Sacred Space) written by Scott Belsky.
Belsky mentions, "Creative Pause – a state described as 'the shift from being fully engaged in a creative activity to being passively engaged, or the shift to being disengaged altogether.'
This phenomenon is the seed of the break-through “a-ha!” moments that people so frequently report having in the shower." Yet, most of us don't make time to disconnect and enjoy downtime. Belsky believes, "Our imaginations suffer the consequences." I definitely agree with him.
In his article, Belsky offers Five Possible Solutions for Creating Sacred Spaces for ourselves. Check out his entire article - and then Make Some Downtime for Yourself Today. I'm going to be working on that very concept today.
