Today, I completed this Art Journal page in my small Moleskine. I titled the art, Pastel Christmas. I began the creation of the page by looking in my stash for some pastel background paper.
I found a large receipt from the Currency Exchange Bank when we were in Taiwan. I always save my ephemera from our trips. The color was perfect so I pasted it onto the page. I painted and embellished large circles to represent Christmas ornaments. Last, I added a border.
After I finished the page, I thought that is was ironic to use an Asian receipt for a Christmas theme - especially since so many goods from China and Taiwan flood our American stores. I guess that's the twist to this page.
I'm submitting this post to the Art Every Day Month Challenge. I have to start working on my portraits again for Gritty Jane's 40 Portraits Challenge. I only completed eight portraits. Thirty-two more portraits to go!
