For Day 2 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days, I experimented with a watermedia technique. I began by creating a sketch of a courtyard using water-soluble ink. I then activated the ink with water. Last, I added watercolor paint.
Experiment #1 is shown above. The shadows created by the activated ink looked too dark to me. So I went through the entire process again. Experiment #2 is shown below.
Ironically, both my husband and I like Experiment #1 better. I did enjoy using this technique and envision more watermedia experiments in my future.
