I had a stash of office labels on hand and decided to embellish them to use for Art Journal borders and/or gift tags. First, I drew designs with waterproof ink and then applied light washes of watercolor paint on the labels. Even though the paper texture was matte, the labels seemed to resist the watercolor paint. So I tried another experiment.
Here, I used a variety of acrylic paints and art stamps to embellish the labels. I preferred working with the paint instead of the watercolors.
Later, I could easily pull off the labels from their paper backing. You may want to weigh the labels down with a book so that they lay flat.
