Today I made pink alcohol ink following this YouTube tutorial, Making Alcohol Ink Using Sharpies Tutorial (Part 2). This latter video is where Karen shows you how to break apart the Sharpie pen.
The ink color of the Sharpie pen that I used was a bright pink as you can see from the cap shown above. The pen produced a homemade ink in a pretty pink color.
Basically, you pull the pen tip off with a round nose plier. Then you twist off the pen casing to get at the cartridge. Next, cut the cartridge in two pieces. Make a slit in each piece. Place the cut cartridges and pen tip in a small bottle of alcohol, shake it up, and let the mixture sit overnight. You can check Karen's video for more details.
The top photo shows the homemade alcohol ink on Yupo paper. The second photo shows the ink used on glossy cardstock.
These three images are the ones that I did a couple of days ago using the commercial alcohol ink and Yupo paper.
