For the past few days, I've been working with polymer clay. I made these doll faces using premo for the molds and dolls that I had on hand. The final faces are made from Sculpey UltraLight.
Sandra Evertson offers a helpful doll face tutorial, on her blog, that you might want to check out. I didn't get to the painting stage yet.
Stacey Apeitos and Arrigo Dorissa set themselves a challenge to create 100 Art Dolls in 2008. But the great part of the challenge is that it is not about meeting deadlines. Their "challenge is to learn about themselves and set intentions for their lives, using Art Doll making as a tool."
Whether you make Art Dolls or Shrines, you can join in the challenge. I am really inspired by Stacey's My Personal Pantheon which you see below. I love the original idea, the unique shapes and colors.
It's been a long time since I made an Art Doll. I need to include Art Dolls on my project list.
