I wanted to make some custom stamps to use in my Art Journals and with my Gelli Arts Printing Plate.
- I created the stamps with Adhesive Foam Sheets and Foam Core Board. I traced the designs on the foam using a pencil.
- The foam sheets were easy to cut with scissors. I used my circle punch to make the foam circles.
- I used an X-acto blade to cut the Foam Core Board to fit the stamps.
Here are the stamped images. I had just filled my pigment pad with ink so things got a little messy.
Tips:
- Using my circle punch on the Foam Sheets may have destroyed the punch due to the thickness of the foam. The punch now clicks when ever I use it. Use a punch with caution.
- Reink your pigment pads ahead of time so that the ink is absorbed into the pad before you begin stamping.
- These foam stamps seem to use a lot of ink.
- To achieve a neater finish on the sides of the cut Foam Core Boards, smooth them with a nail file.
- To reinforce the individual Foam Core Boards, seal them with matte medium before you place the stamps on the boards.
- It was easy to clean the stamps with a wet paper towel.
